Friends Worth Sacrificing For? Friendship II- RVR EP 103

Friends worth sacrificing for? Often, we think friendship should just naturally be easy. And if it’s not, then it’s probably not worth having. However, sacrificial friendship is one of the most beautiful gifts we can give ourselves and to one another. There is a better way.

Friendship Part II – RVR EP 103 is all about the spiritual connection that makes all the difference in being friends.

Johnathan and David shared an amazing friendship in the Bible The best word to characterize it: SACRIFICIAL. Instead of only looking out for themselves, they chose to place the other’s needs in front of their own. The result was a beautiful friendship that put the Kingdom first.

One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24 NIV

THE WORLD OF SELF IS LONELY WITHOUT FRIENDS

In a world that says, ‘You’re number one! Always put yourself in first place.’ We are prone to: Self-care, Self-love, and Selfies, much more than the sacrificial act of true friendship. What we need, is to be selfless and less selfish!

Truly, Jonathan gave David a very special set of gifts. Each one had a powerful meaning. The covenant between these two friends was unbreakable. God’s word shows how the covering this friendship offered is the same way God covers us in Jesus. The text we’re talking about in this show is rich. Unlike the backstabbing, gossip ridden relationships many of have experienced, the Bible shows us a different way.

Sounds like there’s a few things we can learn  about being a friend here, right?

Therefore, we’re continuing our Friendship Series with Part II of Cultivating Friendship in an Isolated World. Listen in as your hosts, Amy Elaine and LaTan share about their friendship. Also, hear the amazing things they’ve learned along the way.
